This sports day camp will include activities such as soccer, football, baseball/softball, physical fitness, and more! Camp will also feature a spiritual message that will be taught and applied at camp. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the format of camp?
Campers will rotate through 4 sports stations (football, baseball, fitness, & soccer) with a buddy (camp volunteer). Stations are designed with every need and ability in mind. After stations, campers will hear a spiritual message from one of our FCA staff members and then campers will be broken off into small groups for discussions. Camp will end in prayer at the center of the field. Parents/Guardians can pick up there camper at this time. We will follow the same format Friday evening and Saturday morning, but Saturday will follow with an award ceremony where lunch will be provided.
Does a guardian need to stay on-site at all times?
Short answer... no. But most parents/guardians feel more comfortable staying and love seeing their camper participate. There are bleachers at the top of the field, but if you would like to sit on the field, we ask that you bring a lawn chair. On Saturday, there will be a parent breakout time with refreshments. Please note that volunteers are unable to help campers with the restroom, so parents/guardians will be called if a camper needs this assistance during camp.
Who will be supervising the campers?
Every camper's safety is our top priority! We will have medical professionals located on the field at all times. Each camper will be assigned a buddy who will travel with them from station to station. All volunteers receive training prior to camp, and each camper's individual needs are taken into consideration when choosing the buddy they are paired with.
What do campers need to bring with them?
Please have all campers wear athletic shoes (a camp t-shirt will be provided). We will also provide an FCA water bottle that can be filled up on the field. If campers have allergies that require an Epi-pen or use of an inhaler, we ask that you provide those at the time of check-in.
I am signing up to volunteer, can my child serve with me if they are under the age of 12?
We LOVE when families are able to serve together! We ask that you take into consideration the maturity of your child. Then, reach out to our staff to talk through options for you and your child volunteering together!
I would love to volunteer, but can only volunteer one of the days.
Please still register to volunteer and mark that option when you sign up.
We will still find a great place for you to serve camp weekend!
Am I able to use these volunteer hours for NHS, etc.?
YES! Please send all forms to fill out to Tori at tbell@fca.org.
I signed up to volunteer, when will I hear back with details or my camp assignment?
Camp training and details will be sent to campers and volunteers two weeks before camp.
All camp assignments will be given the day of camp.
